I have an unwavering passion for health & wellness. I became a personal trainer for this very reason in 2001. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to work in different capacities that have allowed me to build upon my passion. My philosophy is…….everyone should be afforded the opportunity to become a healthier ‘YOU!’
“I believe that we must first set goals, develop a new mindset, which will lead to a physical transformation.”
My journey in Crossfit started in May 2013. I began working out at the box because I was 193lbs and counting. I was ready to lose weight and be healthy again. I had ACL surgery on both knees and my range of motion was the bare minimum. I couldn’t even sit Indian style. Through this journey I also had emotional turmoil that was happening. But as soon as I stepped into this box it all fueled my desire to become as strong as I possible. Chris Harrison’s love for this sport and his passion for community and family became my therapist, teacher, and mentor. Using the brutal wods he made me stronger. Bad days he pushed, the days I had tears in my eyes he pushed, the days my knees hurt he pushed, the days where it was the Lord that helped me to the box he pushed harder. I grew to love the challenges that you face physically and mentally. I absorbed every ounce of information that he and the other coaches had to offer and started to research on my own. Crossfit is more than lifting weights, running, pushups, and tire flips. It is family, it is a community and that is for any box that I have been to. I now can do a squat pass parallel, I have competed in Crossfit competitions and with no prior experience in sports with the patience and help of the 38:16 coaching staff I was able to learn proper technique for the 9 functional movements and became a certified coach and hopefully I can give somebody the same gift 38:16 has given me.
My heart is big in the profession called Fitness and Wellness. I have a passion for preparing for the “unknown and the unknowable” on a daily basis. So, I love sharing all of the things that I know by teaching other people how to be fit, overcoming adversity, and becoming a better individual. CrossFit is everything.
